Global Ready Talent Programme

Programme Overview

The Global Ready Talent Programme (GRT) supports Singapore enterprises that are keen to build a talent pipeline and expand both locally and overseas. As one of the Approved-in-Principle (AIP) partners appointed by Enterprise Singapore, SGTech evaluates and qualifies promising Singapore enterprises to come on board the programme and serves as the primary contact point for GRT-related matters.

Internships under the Global Ready Talent Programme (GRT) are for Singapore enterprises keen to train and invest in young talent.

  • For Singapore enterprises keen to train young talent through local and overseas internships
  • Aimed at full-time tertiary students from eligible education institutions, including Institutes of Technical Education (ITEs), Polytechnics and Universities

Funding Support

Approved participating companies can claim grant for 

  • Internship stipend (up to 50%*, capped at S$1,000/mth^)
  • Overseas allowance (for supported markets)
    • Lump sum travel allowance of $1200
    • Additional support of $32.70/day

* 50% for SME & 30% for non-SME
^ S$1,000 for University & S$800 for ITE/Poly

Eligibility Criteria

Company Criteria

  • A business entity that is registered and incorporated in Singapore
  • At least 30% local (Singaporean or Singaporean Permanent Resident) group shareholdings
  • Be in a financially viable position to start and complete the internship
  • Able to offer interns at least S$800/month to ITE and Polytechnic students and S$1,000/month to University students
  • Possess sound Human Resource processes and be committed towards talent development
  • (For enterprises offering overseas internships) - Have existing overseas operations, positive business outlook and definite growth plans

Intern Criteria

  • Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident; AND
  • Full-time matriculated student from supportable IHLs

Internship Criteria

  • Applicable for full-time internships only, where the intern is required to work between 35 to 44 hours per week
  • Internship duration has to be minimally 4 weeks and at most 1 year. 
  • For enterprises offering overseas internships – At least 2 weeks.
  • Eligible overseas market for overseas internship.
  • Part-time or temporary internships are not supportable under GRT.

Application Process

 

1) Login to Business Grant Portal via CorpPass (For first time users, kindly refer to this guide on CorpPass log in) 

2) Click "Apply for Grants" and select "SGTech" 

3) Input relevant internship details and submit the following documents:

- Applicant Company's Latest Financial Statements or management accounts (i.e. Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash      Flow Statement) [within 18 months]

Entity Registration Documents (If applying for overseas/hybrid internship)

- Internship Training Plan 

- Placement Letter/Email from institution (Should include the following information: Intern name and NRIC, school faculty, internship start and end dates, company name, weekly working hours*, internship roles) 

* A company's internship offer letter will be required if the weekly working hours detail is not present in the placement letter/email from the institution.
