Role Summary
The Accountant is involved in most, if not all, aspects of accounting and oversees the day-to-day activities of the accounting team. He/she ensures that the organisation's finance function is well organised as well as produces timely and accurate financial statements and management accounts, thus achieving compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements. He also analyses data and understands the financial performance and position of the organisation in order to develop suitable accounting policies to meet reporting requirements and to produce any special reports required by the management team.
The Accountant often leads a team of finance staff and works closely with the internal and external auditors, bankers, and regulators. He/She must keep current with changing statutory requirements and tax laws and determine the implications of such changes to financial reporting. He/She may also work with the leadership team to help define the organisation’s overall finance strategy.
Job Requirements
- Supervise the finance team in financial accounting and corporate reporting
- Preparation of tax computation and liaising with tax agent for accurate and timely tax submission
- Support strategic planning initiatives such as Budget and Forecast
- Support working capital management to ensure cashflow is maintained at healthy level
- Support internal and external audit activities
- Preparation of management reports
What are we looking for:
- Min 5 years and above working experience especially as an Accountant
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Hands-on experience with Fact software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Diploma/ Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or relevant qualifications
