Taking care of employees
Senior management at WizVision genuinely cares about each employee’s wellbeing. They organise festive celebrations with the team and their family members, and send gift packages to appreciate their contribution. Mr Daniel Yeo and Mr Jared Quek, the former software development interns, feel they were treated as part of the team when they received "Ang Baos" (red packet during Lunar New Year) and were treated to Christmas meals.
A friendly working environment
WizVision provides a friendly learning environment to every new intern. Young talents are treated as part of the team and are closely guided by industry experts. During his 1-year internship experience from January to December 2021, Mr Quek found his colleagues welcoming and appreciated his supervisor's guidance. Mr Yeo resonated with this and shared that, "The senior software developer and project manager, whom I worked with, was always available to guide me and helped me master technical and client-facing skills."
Contributing to real-world projects
Mr Tan Teck Guan, the Chief Executive Officer at WizVision, believes in the value of interns and that young talents can contribute to the company. Therefore, the company provides interns with a platform to learn and grow through gaining hands-on experiences.
Mr Yeo described how the team trusted his ability and engaged him in real-world projects. In addition, to ensure he was on the right track for the tasks assigned, he regularly received feedback and advice from industry experts throughout the project.
"I was grateful to have the opportunity to intern at Wizvision as it helped enhance my skillsets as a software developer. The company gave me great opportunities to try new frameworks and build applications," Mr Daniel Yeo proclaimed.
Mr Quek was also given opportunities to work on actual customer projects. That gave him the exposure to build and enhance his portfolio, such as getting involved in projects like improving company infrastructure, testing new tools, and server monitoring. Moreover, he could apply the knowledge he learned in school to real-world tasks related to security fixes, cryptographic algorithms, and web applications.
Helping students succeed at school and work
Members of the senior management at WizVision want to help students excel in academic and career fields. One of their project directors teaches Information Technology as an adjunct professor at Temasek Polytechnic, providing students valuable opportunities to consult professionals for work- and school-related projects.
"We always have the students' interests at heart, and we want to help them succeed," said Mr Tan Teck Guan.
WizVision aims to continue developing young talents by providing the necessary tools to tackle real-world projects. With the help of SGTech, WizVision looks forward to welcoming more interns onboard through the Global Ready Talent Programme (GRT).
